charles "buddy" byrd

Charles "Buddy" Byrd lives his passion: safety as the foundational tenet of a healthy workplace. He founded Organizational Safety Culture Services, LLC to both honor such value and to share his wisdom with likeminded leaders.Buddy has spent his life in dual careers with the United States Air Force Reserve and federal civilian service. Though Buddy retired from the Reserves in 2014 after more than 30 years of service, he continues his public service with more than 35 years of civilian work across the federal government.Buddy found his calling to the safety profession a mere year after beginning his civilian service, when he and his peers lost ten colleagues to a multi-million-dollar aircraft crash. This tragic experience, and many others throughout his career, frame his approach to organizational safety, wherein he seeks to identify systemic deficiencies before they materialize into catastrophic failure.
